Journey highlights
Much is known about Japan’s technological prowess, rich traditional way of life and even off-beat pop culture. Less is known however, about Japan’s sacred sites, energetic rituals and ancient ruins. On this 11-day journey, we travel by trains and boats from Kurama Mountain (Reiki Mountain) into the heart of the Okinawan islands, retracing the stories of Japan's mythology through sacred rituals, uplifting spaces, and fascinating stories. We discover and experience qualities of Japan that will inspire the senses and restore your spirit.
Some highlights include:
- Roaming through Japan’s last unchanged rural landscapes of Asuka, the ancient capital.
- Walking up Tarobo Mountain, one of the most striking ‘pyramid’ mountains in Japan.
- Meditating by the serene Lake Biwa, Japan's largest.
- Exploring spectacular megalithic structures on the beautiful island of Miyajima.
- Seeing the sun rise over Kudaka, Okinawa’s sacred island.
- Engaging with warm Okinawans and learn about their traditional way of life and secrets to longevity.
- Hiking through Yakushima’s ancient forests.
- Travelling by boat to Togakushiki Island and enjoying Okinawa’s breathtaking coral reefs.
